Why choose Alberta?
The main feature of Alberta is uts stunningly beauty with spectacular scenery around every corner.
Combine Alberta with British Columbia and there are some fantastic
rail journeys to enjoy: Rocky Mountaineer offers three separate options
through the Rockies and Via Rail Canada, the national railway system
of Canada, offers two separate journeys, each has their benefits and
our staff will be pleased to advise you which fits most appropriately
into your proposed trip.
The voyageurs, employed by the Hudson Bay Fur Trading Company, were
the first white men to open up this area to early settlement. When
they arrived the area was teaming with game, both on the Prairies
and on the Plains.
Whilst the Prairie areas have changed to become productive farmland
fortunately the formation in 1885 of the Banff National Park has meant
that many areas still teem with wildlife including bear, moose, wolf,
mountain sheep and mountain goats. Take a look at our Walk on the
Wild Side section to help you look for something to meet your requirements.
The foresight, which led to the formation of the national mountain
parks of Banff, Jasper and Waterton, means that you are visiting this
area and still seeing it in pristine condition.
There are many ways to explore this beautiful region of Canada, stroll
along the shore at Lake Louise or take a more strenuous hike up to
the Lake Agnes Tea House. If four legs suit you better than two, how
about a horseback trail ride through the Rockies? Alternatively, you
can enjoy canoeing or kayaking on a tranquil lake or get onto the
rivers with a raft or float trip.
Wherever you travel in this area there is much to do. Our staff has
travelled the region extensively and can offer first-hand experience
of many itineraries, tailored to your individual requirements.
